Brian Gay is an artist and musician who resides and works in the Chicago region and is known for his evocative abstract paintings. After earning his degree from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1986 he made the decision to pursue his musical goals, and spent many years playing in Chicago based rock bands.

In 2023, Brian resumed painting and drew inspiration from a range of sources, including space imagery, microscopic photography, textures found in minerals, dyed fabrics, and the biomorphic abstractionists of the mid-20th century. His work combines various inspirations to create a distinctive visual aesthetic.

Brian explores shape, color, and texture in his abstract paintings, inviting viewers to interpret and relate to the pieces on a personal level.
